Brand Photo Session
planning the perfect
Your brand story should flow consistently in all avenues you do business. From your social media to your print marketing. A brand photoshoot with help you to put all of that into place. I know that your brand is continuously growing so I've created options for yearly content creation.
You might not have a clear vision on the look you want or what type of photos you should take and that is okay! Once you decide to move forward I will send over a questionnaire and we will walk through it together. I have worked on my own brand for years and know how stressful it can be. Let me help you and save you time with my experience.
Your client is most likely meeting you for the first time through your website or social media, let's create a brand story that truly showcases your business!
We will go over everything from what props to bring, which outfits work best, and what products you want to showcase. I work with artists, photographers, creatives, real estate agents, interior designers, bloggers, coaches, social media influencers, and the list goes on! Everyone needs a good brand presence.
Once I receive the questionnaire back, I will create a vision board for you that we can both PIN ideas to. I will walk you through every step! You can even send me outfit ideas while you're shopping! When the day comes we will take our time and I will help you pose and direct you to tell a story through the images.
I'm here to make the process as easy as possible! We will create amazing images for you to share with your clients and followers.
Creating an online portfolio, especially in the design business, is key to booking more clients, selling a home, or booking your space. It can make or break your business. Let me help with the photography!
How many times have you scrolled through terrible images on Airbnb or Zillow? With a little natural light, strategic photography, and a well thought out plan, you will stand apart from the competition.
If you book for real estate or interior design, don't forget to plan for a headshot or two!
It's so important to show the face behind the brand, especially when your consumers are social media obsessed. They want to feel connected with the brand. Small business is KING right now. Show the brains and beauty behind your business. It will elevate your brand even further. It helps your clients know exactly who they are talking to. It builds trust.
Are you a social media influencer who is tired of setting up timers and tripods? Let's work together to create a content calendar where we photograph a ton of looks in a short amount of time!
Planning is key for these types of sessions! I am more than happy to help you create content for specific brands, or photograph 10 outfits on one day! I know how hard it is to create content on your own. Let me make it a little easier on you by being creator while you shine in the photos.
I love building relationships with small businesses! If you want to work with me continuously, we can come up with a custom collection just for you.

Please note that this list is just a starting point and that I'm happy to take on any ideas you might have!
Sometimes, it's not just about you! Let's get the whole entire team involved! We can plan a day where everyone comes in for a quick headshot as well as a few team photos!
Your small business might have a team of amazing people! Why not showcase all of you? It's a fun day of team building, we can order food, have coffee, and update your entire company's portraits!
I can come to you or we can have everyone come to my residential studio in North Smithfield, RI.
1. Make a list of goals before your shoot. What are you shooting for? A new course, rebranding, or about to launch your first business?
2. List out where the photos will be used! Do you need landscape photos for your website or marketing? Do you need portraits for your Etsy shop? Are you shooting for Instagram?
3. Create a Mood Board. Yes! I'm giving you permission to go crazy on Pinterest! But stay organized! Make a secret board with images that inspire you, color palettes, and even outfits!
4. Back to Pinterest to create a Shot List! Pin images that you would like to recreate! Keep it realistic! If you're shooting in a studio don't pin photos that are on top of a mountain. Use Pinterest as a guide. Pin a photo with a girl and her laptop if you work on your computer a lot! Choose photos that represent you and your business.
5. Choose a location that is versatile. If you're a fashion blogger and need to shoot 10 looks in one session, choose a spot that has a couple different backdrops! For example, a cityscape could have a park close by or a skyline!
A few tips
6. Plan out your outfits! It's important to find outfits that make you feel good!
7. Practice your poses. I know this one feels silly but trust me. Take a peek in the mirror, smile with teeth, smile without. Do you like both? Take a few selfies, is there a side of your face you like better?
8. Props. Props. Props. Find props that help to tell the story of what you do. If you're a designer, you could bring fabric swatches or look books. A photographer could bring a camera or styling kit.
9. Hire someone if you're unsure. You can always hire a hair/makeup artist to help you get glammed. You can hire a stylist to help you put all the pieces together. Most important, hire a photographer with the SAME look and style you're going for! If your style is dark and moody hire a photographer that edits that way.
10. Trust the process. Okay, you did all the planning, you hired the photographer, it's the day of your shoot. Relax! Breathe! Smile! My sessions are always fun and laid back! I'm really easy to talk to so if anything comes up that you'd like to try, I'm in!
I know that a brand session is an investment for every small business owner which is why I do as much as I can to make the most out of your session. Planning your goals and objectives ahead of time will make sure we are on the right track!
Every business is different and their needs are always evolving. Having a hands on approach is always my goal. Learning as much about your business and the best course of action is key.
We will create a plan based on you and your business. All of the prep work before the shoot will be worth it the day of your session.
making the best of your shoot!
Consumers love seeing the person behind the business. They are more likely to buy from a company that they know and love. Especially when they can put a face to a brand. It's important to choose outfits that represent the best version of yourself.
Need help picking outfits? I have a Pinterest board for that! I am also available through text if you're out shopping and need some last minute advice! Make sure to try everything on and move around in it at least a week before your session.
1. pick your outfits and do a runway walk!
Have you ever gone to a website or someone's Instagram and everything just feels unorganized and all over the place? We want to avoid that feeling. When a client lands on your page, we want it to feel cohesive, coordinated, and consistent.
Choosing a color palette beforehand will also help you with choosing your outfits, props, and styling pieces. Your color palette should match the mood and feel of the brand you are trying to achieve. Is your personality fun and lighthearted? Lean more towards whites and neutrals or bright colors! Are you selling paintings that are moody? Lean in towards darker colors like blacks and greys.
2. choose a color palette that is representative of your brand
Staying organized is key! What types of images are we trying to create? Are we photographing the product you want to sell on your Etsy site? Are we doing a lookbook for your blog? Whatever the case may be, organizing each piece beforehand will help your session to run smoothly.
Iron each outfit and keep them hung. Place styling objects together in an easy to carry box or bag. Have product out and ready to photograph if I'm coming to you. Have a list of must have shots if you're working on your website. For example, if you're an artist, have brushes, paint, and canvas ready. If you're a food blogger, have different bowls, mixing tools, and food ready to go.
3. buy your props and get your product ready and organized!
I can't wait to start planning with you and getting to know you! If you haven't scheduled your brand session yet, let's get that in the books. Feel free to email me any time at kim@kimlynphotography.com
